"If It Hadn't Been For Love," by Chris Stapleton of the
Steeldrivers. How much do we love the Steeldrivers? Well
enough to want to steal all their stuff, that's for sure.
Love this song!
Next up, "Turn the Page" written by Tim O'Brien. In which
Nat executes a beautiful, ALMOST perfect solo. SO CLOSE,
only missed it by THAT much. And Jenine has difficulty with
pitch on the word "stranger" repeatedly. But OTHER than
that, not a bad effort all told.
"One more last one" is what we always say. And "One more
last one" after that, if we can. We played last at the
Saturday night blackboard concert, and when the call came
for "one more last one," we thought this would be a good
lively jumper to leave everyone hyped up for the rest of
the evening.
Invitation concert Sunday night. We asked Lexi Bassett to
join us on cello. Lexi hasn't been playing cello very long,
she has recently switched over from flute. She was really
nervous, but we think she was fantastic. Keep it up, Lexi!
Note sign of being at a folk festival: every song becomes a
sing-a-long!
Personal note: I borrowed the jerkin and hat from the
fantastic Roy Mcguinness's costume stash, and I think I've
found my New Look. I'm diggin' it! I wonder if I could get
the guys wearing jerkins, too.
Who knew Bob Dylan could be so much fun? Well, Tim O'Brien
did, you should buy and enjoy his album "Red on Blond."
Gave us a whole new appreciation for Dylan's songs. This
song makes me cry.
This was our "one more last one" on Sunday night. And
everyone sang along!
